Day 21 - September 9: Update

Student in with him all morning

🙌🏻Dad is really coming along

😁Very chatty this morning

😅Was worried about work (needing to call in)

🙏🏻🙏🏻Still confused but likely will be like that for a while. Slow healing process. Delusional/confused at times

🙌🏻🎉Dr very happy with progress

🙌🏻Good output

❤️Nurse said he's so nice

🙌🏻VS stable

🙌🏻WBC are within normal limits today!


🌇 Evening Update:

❤️🙌🏻🎉🥹We had an awesome phone/in person conversation with Dad! He sounds so much more like himself (the hoarseness from the vent seems to be improving). ❤️ He was so excited to share the opportunities he's had to share Christ with those around him and how grateful he is for the medical staff. "They're heroes!" ❤️ So excited to see how God is using this in so many ways. 


🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️Prayer Requests:

❤️🙏🏻Dad continues to want to leave, though, and we told him that we're trusting in God's timing for this. Please continue praying for timing and the right place to be available for him at that time. 

Please pray for each of us as we interact with him. That we would know how to best respond with love and grace. ❤️

Continued healing for Dad: body and mind ❤️

Continued opportunities to show God's love and grace to those around us. ❤️🙏🏻

Day 100- November 27th: Discharged!

Today has been such a blessing! Dad was discharged from Upstate and has returned to "Castleview"!!! 🥳🥳🥳  Dad did well on the drive and made it home before any snow storms! 😀 Thank you for your prayers!!  The JP drain was removed from his head yesterday as the drainage had essentially resolved and met criteria for removal. 🙌 A not so comfortable experience but  made it through! Thankful to have his dad there for support during the removal and got a few extra stitches as part of this process. Repeat CT scan was good!  Yesterday had more opportunities to get out of bed and visit with family. Pain had overall been well managed with Tylenol for 24hrs plus. Today, got clearance to shower and had incision cleaned. Learned how to care for the incision and signs to monitor for infection/complications. Plan for follow up in 2wks with neurosurgery to have stitches removed. Dad reports already feeling an overall improvement in mood and feeling "more normal"!🙌❤  Must say,
