Day 20- September 8: Overnight Report

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Overnight report: 

🥳🥳🙌🙌🙌He had a Good night; it went really well. He Slept well.
👍🙌🙌Taking meds well & doing well with diet overnight 

Mitts prevent pulling at picc line 

Meds: Melatonin for sleep,
Tylenol, clonidine, eye drops
BP med (labetalol) during day if needed & Bowel meds, Occasional electrolyte meds 

👏👏👏BP controlled all night
Not on diuretic anymore
At times HR high may be related to pain/agitation. 

Restlessness? It's More him trying to get comfortable, requires redirecting, "you're in hospital being taken care of." He gets reoriented w/ verbal cues 

Plan for today? 
👍Pt & OT nothing else pending 

Previous Chest xray?/sputum culture?
Culture back- Few bacteria may retreat w/ antibiotics 

🙏🙏🙏Prayers for nurse- Make it through rest of shift and enjoy next few days off.

Day 100- November 27th: Discharged!

Today has been such a blessing! Dad was discharged from Upstate and has returned to "Castleview"!!! 🥳🥳🥳  Dad did well on the drive and made it home before any snow storms! 😀 Thank you for your prayers!!  The JP drain was removed from his head yesterday as the drainage had essentially resolved and met criteria for removal. 🙌 A not so comfortable experience but  made it through! Thankful to have his dad there for support during the removal and got a few extra stitches as part of this process. Repeat CT scan was good!  Yesterday had more opportunities to get out of bed and visit with family. Pain had overall been well managed with Tylenol for 24hrs plus. Today, got clearance to shower and had incision cleaned. Learned how to care for the incision and signs to monitor for infection/complications. Plan for follow up in 2wks with neurosurgery to have stitches removed. Dad reports already feeling an overall improvement in mood and feeling "more normal"!🙌❤  Must say,
