Day 19-September 7: Overnight Report

🌙Overnight Report:

Okay night

Didn't want to sleep, gave melatonin, Seroquel
Up the whole night, slept probably 30 minutes

Neuro same - conversation, etc, intermittently confused: knows his name and sometimes where he is/why and when it is (likely somewhat due to lack of sleep as he was able to give this information at beginning of overnight shift)

Nurse will ask about swallow study-no order for it that she could find/not scheduled

Day 100- November 27th: Discharged!

Today has been such a blessing! Dad was discharged from Upstate and has returned to "Castleview"!!! 🥳🥳🥳  Dad did well on the drive and made it home before any snow storms! 😀 Thank you for your prayers!!  The JP drain was removed from his head yesterday as the drainage had essentially resolved and met criteria for removal. 🙌 A not so comfortable experience but  made it through! Thankful to have his dad there for support during the removal and got a few extra stitches as part of this process. Repeat CT scan was good!  Yesterday had more opportunities to get out of bed and visit with family. Pain had overall been well managed with Tylenol for 24hrs plus. Today, got clearance to shower and had incision cleaned. Learned how to care for the incision and signs to monitor for infection/complications. Plan for follow up in 2wks with neurosurgery to have stitches removed. Dad reports already feeling an overall improvement in mood and feeling "more normal"!🙌❤  Must say,
