Day 18 - September 6: Overnight Report

🙌🏻WBC down to 10.2

🙏🏻Very restless, pleasantly confused (could do sedation but want to continue to monitor neuro changes), not agitated
Seroquel helped

Neuro exams consistent
Alert to self, confused about where he is 

🙏🏻Pulled out ng tube, waiting for X-ray results to ensure correct placement

🙏🏻Trying to climb out of bed

🙌🏻Not in pain (they asked him) 

Muscle relaxers around the clock

Repositioning every 30min-1hr

🙏🏻 Please be praying for the swallow eval (not sure when this will be yet) that he will do well and that they could take out the ng tube soon


Requesting continued prayer for our interactions with others (grace, patience, love and kindness), Dad's healing, rest, safety. ❤️🙏🏻

Day 100- November 27th: Discharged!

Today has been such a blessing! Dad was discharged from Upstate and has returned to "Castleview"!!! 🥳🥳🥳  Dad did well on the drive and made it home before any snow storms! 😀 Thank you for your prayers!!  The JP drain was removed from his head yesterday as the drainage had essentially resolved and met criteria for removal. 🙌 A not so comfortable experience but  made it through! Thankful to have his dad there for support during the removal and got a few extra stitches as part of this process. Repeat CT scan was good!  Yesterday had more opportunities to get out of bed and visit with family. Pain had overall been well managed with Tylenol for 24hrs plus. Today, got clearance to shower and had incision cleaned. Learned how to care for the incision and signs to monitor for infection/complications. Plan for follow up in 2wks with neurosurgery to have stitches removed. Dad reports already feeling an overall improvement in mood and feeling "more normal"!🙌❤  Must say,
