Day 13 - September 1: Updates

🙌🏻🎉❤️Chest x ray results from yesterday
No fluid around lungs
Buemex (diaretics) working well

❤️🎉Moving legs 
Thumbs up
Wiggled toes
Holding Mom's hand constantly reaching out - strong grip
He nodded his head when asked if he could see out of left eye and when asked if ok

❤️🙌🏻Took out arterial line

🙌🏻🎉Made changes on vent -Breathing status looks great

🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻No further signs of clonus. Definitely not seizure signs and not on seizure med to mask that.

🙏🏻 Left eye swollen more than initially so not staying shut
Ointment will help keep lubricated
Taping shut 
Antibiotic for eyes/azithromycin 

🙌🏻🙌🏻 98.7 temp this afternoon

🎉🙌🏻Stepped down from fentanyl to precedex

🎯Goal: Wean off ventilator


❤️🙏🏻 Prayer Requests:
Continued and complete healing! That Dad's pain would be well managed. And that the medical team would have wisdom surrounding eventual extubation (that the timing would be right and his body would be ready). Healing and protection of his eyes and vision, for complete restoration of vision.

Continued prayers for those traveling this road alongside us: new friends and long time friends, family and those God has placed on this path with us. We're not alone here and we're not the only ones in need of the presence of God in our situation. We know and see God working in miraculous ways and we pray that He would continue to show us how to pray big prayers for all things. Our God is greater than anything we might be facing. ❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻


Rest, sleep, healing and health, rejuvenation. Continued protection and provision. Safe travels as we and others commute back and forth to see Dad 


For God to continue working in this in ways that we can't even fathom. For His grace and love to shine through it all, for His glory ❤️🙌🏻

Day 100- November 27th: Discharged!

Today has been such a blessing! Dad was discharged from Upstate and has returned to "Castleview"!!! 🥳🥳🥳  Dad did well on the drive and made it home before any snow storms! 😀 Thank you for your prayers!!  The JP drain was removed from his head yesterday as the drainage had essentially resolved and met criteria for removal. 🙌 A not so comfortable experience but  made it through! Thankful to have his dad there for support during the removal and got a few extra stitches as part of this process. Repeat CT scan was good!  Yesterday had more opportunities to get out of bed and visit with family. Pain had overall been well managed with Tylenol for 24hrs plus. Today, got clearance to shower and had incision cleaned. Learned how to care for the incision and signs to monitor for infection/complications. Plan for follow up in 2wks with neurosurgery to have stitches removed. Dad reports already feeling an overall improvement in mood and feeling "more normal"!🙌❤  Must say,
