Day 9-August 28: Recap

☀️❤️πŸŽ‰πŸ™ŒπŸ»Today's Recap & Praises:

Discussed MRI r/t prognosis: Scattered injuries. Not to preclude recovery/ forward progress.
Unknown time frame for full following commands/walking/talking etc.

πŸŽ‰πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»Today Open/close eyes to command & wiggle toes did not for hands/feet. (Squeezed hand of overnight nurse at shift change though)

AM Chest X-ray showed a lot of fluid. πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸŽ‰Diuretic worked well w/ lots of urine output. Ultrasound didn't show large pocket of fluid anymore to have to do the needle aspiration.

❤️πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»Good thing- following commands/wake up. Good sign.

πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»❤️He's on the better end for exams at this point compared to other cases where people may not have woken up yet.

For eyes- Over time swelling goes down, should get better. Ophthalmology following.
Right now, Not looking at you- r/t injury & sedation
Gaze should improve with time/healing (did look towards someone talking to him tonight) πŸŽ‰

Bear hugger back on

Temp up. IV through central line helps control/regulate blood temp.
Has been Persistently febrile (fever). (They care about the water temp...if very cold then he's having a temp). Looking for infection. Haven't found any yet. It's like his Internal thermostat is off. Maybe due to brain injury.

Electrolytes not too off. Daily labs.
Diuretic may cause potassium loss & other electrolytes. Standard orders for nurses to replace electrolytes if needed.

Bradycardic & high blood pressure yesterday could be related to fluid on lungs.

Nothing structurally wrong w/ heart from ekg or other testing.

With agitation (Usually tachycardic) not the case for dad, so she's thinking the low Heart Rate & high Blood Pressure at times may be related to the fluid.

❤️I was able to see Dad with his eyes open tonight and prayed with Him and sang to him which seemed to calm him some as he started to close his eyes again

❤️πŸ™πŸ» Prayer Requests:

Rest!

We're still praying for God to miraculously provide complete healing to Dad!! He's come so far already I feel, but it's a long road ahead. Praying for healing and patience and wisdom on this road, for God's peace.

Continued opportunities to love and pray for and show Christ to those around us because of this.

Our family and friends as they cope and support us and dad and love on all of us and travel.

Health and protection.

Day to day: work, school, kids, etc. Knowing where the balance is -seeking Christ in it for all that we need.
