Day 10- August 29: Rounds (and Another 👍)

He moved his leg and arms. Left arm to chest. A friend said he moved left arm when he was talking

Dr:
Gave thumbs up 
Opened eye squeezed left hand
Wiggled toes and really good this am. Did a lot just now.

Changed vent setting to allow more for breathing on own and he's doing well with that 

Plan to reduce fentanyl and look at other meds as well (to wean off where they can)

Try to take central line out today! Will likely put in PICC line instead

IV temp management is off today and temps doing well. Will control temp with meds instead at this point

Bloated looking today (happens with being in bed)

Chest X-ray better than yesterday, little bit showing on R side, Lasix working

Labs & ABG last evening looked good, may check ABG again today

Day 100- November 27th: Discharged!

Today has been such a blessing! Dad was discharged from Upstate and has returned to "Castleview"!!! 🥳🥳🥳  Dad did well on the drive and made it home before any snow storms! 😀 Thank you for your prayers!!  The JP drain was removed from his head yesterday as the drainage had essentially resolved and met criteria for removal. 🙌 A not so comfortable experience but  made it through! Thankful to have his dad there for support during the removal and got a few extra stitches as part of this process. Repeat CT scan was good!  Yesterday had more opportunities to get out of bed and visit with family. Pain had overall been well managed with Tylenol for 24hrs plus. Today, got clearance to shower and had incision cleaned. Learned how to care for the incision and signs to monitor for infection/complications. Plan for follow up in 2wks with neurosurgery to have stitches removed. Dad reports already feeling an overall improvement in mood and feeling "more normal"!🙌❤  Must say,
